Ask A Cashier!

I worked at Canadian Tire for 2 years and just recently left my job due to personal reasons, during those two years I have been working as part-time head cashier, therefore customer service (returns and exchanges) as well as regular cash.
Please, ask me anything (without being rude or you will not be answered) and I will do to my best abilities try to help you.

Like that part-time teenager back in July. He thought he knew everything, but we spanked him & sent him home crying to his Mommy.

Well, I'd like to know what Ms. Know-It-All would say to a customer who paid $650 for one of these pools, found out it was defective, and dragged the 228.7 lb thing back to the store?

How would the young lady explain to them that the words "This product has no warranty" means they are out of luck?

How would she explain that the store's policy says that the store can refuse to refund the money, refuse to exchange it for a pool that works, and even refuse to send it out for repair?

I'd be really intersted to know ...

Maybe she realized her young ego might take a part-time bruising, for talking too far above her (ex) pay-grade?

I worked at an ontario store, yes and the scanning code of practice: At the store that I have worked at, it is posted at the customer service desk (on the counter) and at the last cash, we are quizzed on it, and we were instructed that if something of the sort would occur, the customer MUST ask us get the item for free (if under the 10$ mark) however, if they ask to get the item at the lower price, we do that (no questions asked).

First of all, I am not "ms. know it all" I am simply offering my answering of questions, if you wish for me to co-operate, dont but such an ass.

However, the product does not carry a warranty through Canadian Tire, and because it was opened, the 90 days exchange/refund does not apply.
HOWEVER, something that you could have done, was contact the company (Hydroforce) and explain the situation, and ask for an "R.A." number for your claim, with this number you bring it to your canadian tire (preferably the one you purchased it at) and present them with the R.A. number and thats when they will issue you an exchange because Canadian tire will not have to pay for anything.

Sounds like your training sucked.

Have you thought about maybe doing some checking on your own, to see what the rules REALLY are?

Or, are you content to simply continue giving out incorrect information?
