They are not lying, just a bit misinformed. Tire manufacturer's warranties are valid anywhere their tires are sold, but only cover defects. If you run over a nail, blow out the tire due to poor inflation, road hazards, etc.......those aren't covered without having them installed at Canadian...

Don't stop at the store manager....call customer relations and they will help you with your problem at that store. If they have made a mistake and damaged your vehicle as a result, they will have to pay.

Luv'em or hate'em, big box retailers can afford to carry name brand stuff at much cheaper prices due to their buying power. Not that I would put much faith in any brand name anymore, as most have outsourced or outright moved production operations to China, Taiwan, Phillipines, or anywhere else...
