The only way they would be on the hook would be if it wasn't actually your card. They could have entered the number on yuor card manually then imprinted it.. I'm guessing that store was too lazy to go get the imprinter.
There IS a way they can swipe your card, but it takes longer, and if we are...
I work for Canadian tire, and I admit, the repair only warranties are rediculous. But people are ignoring the facts. There are people here who are simply trying to explain the warranties because they are misunderstood.
Saying the customer service reps have stupid policies is getting old.. The...
Some items just can't be taken back if they are used. What would the store do with them?
People bring back used lawnmowers that are FUELED. We can't put those in a box and resell them when they're all covered with grass..
At my store, we have the return policy at the bottom of the receipt. Not sure about other stores..
If an item has something that's not a 90 day return policy it will say under the item. If you can't return it at all, a message pops up on the cashiers screen saying to tell the customer there...
At my Canadian Tire we do have a sign with the return policy at Customer Service.. We also have the warranties of certain items stated on the receipt. If it's repair only it's on the receipt. Unless it's just my store that does that..
Well many of these "open boxes" are defective so Canadian Tire doesn't resell those.
Other ones, if everything is there and the item is not USED, then why can't we resell it? I guarantee you at almost any store if you bring back the item in the packaging but the box is open, they'll take it...
Different items have different warranties which affect the return policy sometimes. There is no way one person can memorize thousands of these policies.. So just ask when you buy it and the cashier can look it up, or it will be stated on your receipt.
I don't know why you people sit there and study up on Canadian Tire's policy's. Returns without original packaging will be accepted at Canadian Tire's discretion. Did you see that part? My store isn't the only Canadian Tire that will allow it.
The problem that MIGHT come up is if you bring it...
If the item is repair only and was purchased within 90 days......... The store can and will give an exchange or even a refund. Unless it's an item that isn't covered by our return policy at all.
Geez, people just don't understand!
Sorry I don't think I fully explained everything about original packaging. If the item is defective, and purchased less than 90 days ago, we don't need the original packaging. This is because the item is defective and won't be going back on the shelves. All Canadian Tires SHOULD be following...
I'm not sure if these are actually lies, or if they were just misunderstood..
#1 - You CAN get a refund for a defective item if it is within the 90 day return policy. If not then that is when it's up to the warranty, if the cashier is refusing to give you a refund when it was within 90 days...
I am aware the post was from a year ago but I am trying to clear up some rumors going around. I don't know what Canadian Tire your shopping at, so you might want to try another one. We don't care if it's in the original packaging, we just put it to defective if it's not. (If it's within the 90...
Looks like you as well as other customers.. are confused. We take back open boxes, ALL THE TIME. The only time we don't if it is passed the 90 day return policy and the item has no warranty. OR if it's past the return policy, defective, and you have a warranty where you have to call the...
I've worked at Ct for a year, I'm a teenager, and I think the way we are stereotyped is wrong.. Yesterday I had someone ask if batteries were included with an item, and when I read the box and said they weren't, the customer demanded I give him a discount because "nobody wants to buy something...
