Hi,

I have a question about the warranty description below:

This product carries a 1 year exchange warranty redeemable at any Canadian Tire store.

What does this really mean?

Hello Andy,

Tire tires are part of the "Some exceptions" part of the return policy. Tire chains have a 72 day with receipt (3 day), exchange policy in which Canadian Tire will exchange the tirechain for a different size if the chain was found to not fit. There is no return policy and no tender will be returned. They are considered a FINAL SALE.

The reason you connect return them is because you do not have to install them to be used; in other to get up the mountain or on snow covered passes, most are patrolled by police or security that do not allow any vehicles which are not equipped. They will allow for vehicles that can produce the tirechains in hand.

Many stores (not necessarily Canadian Tire) have all but stopped selling tire chains because of customers returning the chains and never actually installing them; just *using them* as a visual reference.

This is why you will receive a pamphlet that indicates the exchange policy, why we don't allow for returns, and any problems that may occur.

There is also no WARRANTY on the chains as there is no way to prove or disprove a defect to having them installed incorrectly, or using them incorrectly.

Hope this helps. :)
