Here is a good tip to help determine if your shop that you deal with is a ripping you off on parts.
Find a way to get your car up on a hoist, or using a jack.
Get out your favorite sharpy (colored would be more noticeable) and put a dot, or line, or in some way mark some of the parts that you regularly may have changed.
EVERYTIME you have your car repairs, ask for the parts back that was replaced and look to see if the part(s) returned have your marking. This will show you if your part(s) was replaced. Some parts like Alternators and starters can have Serial numbers on them that you could record.
