Yah, good chance this will be unbiased, and not omit any information that might actually shed a positive light on ct

you are pessimistic that davidLer is going to hide things

the sources are can be verified

you are optimistic that there will be any information that would be positive

Spring is coming, so I've decided to focus on: 1) defective pressure washers and 2) defective lawn mowers.

The question I've been asking is simple:
"If I take it home and it doesn't work, how much time do I have to get a refund?"
If the answer I received is "You can’t ever get a refund", I've then asked:
"How much time do I have to exchange it for one that works?"
For each retailer, I will be using the following sources of information:
    - Official store web site policy for in-store purchases in Ontario.

    - "1-800" customer service number.

    - Signs and other documents in the store aisles.

    - In-store Customer Service staff or manager.
I will also check for online complaints by searching Google using a standard phrase.

Based on the answers for all models of pressure washers and lawn mowers that they sell, each retailer will be graded as follows:
A - "Refunds Provided" - The store policy allows a refund on all types of pressure washers and lawn mowers for at least some period of time.

B - "Exchange Provided" - The store policy allows an exchange on all types of pressure washers and lawn mowers for at least some period of time.

F - "No Refund, No Exchange" - The store policy does not allow a refund or exchange on at least one model of pressure washer or lawn mower.
Note that I do not plan investigate nor discuss manufacturers' warranties, but if a retailer bases their return policy on the manufacturer’s warranty, this will be mentioned.

It seemed logical to start with results for Canadian Tire.

There are two stores in my area, so I'll be looking at both.

I will then move on to other major retailers, such as Home Depot, Walmart and Costco.

The results for CT are almost ready.

I like it....let's say the stores are in Peterborough, for arguments sake, I wouldn't mind the links to their return policies online.....they each have one. Not to take your word for it, but I'd like a true comparison. Thanks

    Unregistered?

    Is that you?

Because we've got some things to discuss.

    Do you really have:

Is that why you use "meds" as an insult?

Do you really want to deny all mentally ill people the right to "post commentary on web forums."?

Do you want to deny them a right that you want to keep for yourself?

Does that include people with depression? With autism? Anxiety disorder? Aspergers? OCD? DIDS?

Do you think a person who has an illness can't be correct in their statements?

Do you really think that any person with any mental illness can be accurately compared to a predatory pedophile?

    ---

Do you really think that anyone who advocates for consumers' rights can be accurately compared to predatory pedophiles?

Do you really think that anyone who advocates for consumers' rights online is "praying [sic] on the innocent with your lies and hidden personalties."?

Do you really think that everyone who advocates for consumers' rights "don't KNOW anything"?

That they "just ASSUME" they "know everything"?

Do you think that all these people "make societies weak"?

What, exactly, is the "union mentality", and how does it relate to Canadian Tire's "repair only" policy on pressure washers?

Ditto for the "the tide of state politics south of the border"?

    ----

Who are the "Achievers"? Is this a statement of how you see yourself?

Do you see yourself as having "a voice everywhere", that you "make policy" and "make solutions", "know how to get resolution to inevitable problems"?

Do you see yourself as one of the "majority" who "rules"?

Were all of those accurate statements that you will stand behind, and explain your view of the world?

Because those things say far more about you than anything you've written here so far.

    Agreed.

I'm more worried that LiarGuy and the prolific Unregistered (assuming they are different people) will respond with countless off-topic comments ("Repairs are a wonderful option!") and dispute every trivial fact ("Youre a liar - ours is a 1-866 number").

On with your findings DavidLer. Don't be distracted by CT dealers disdain for the middle class...just the poor customer who hasn't learned anything yet.

How many posters does DavidLer post under? Smart Consumer has had different posts with different language attached. Hard to keep all the personalties straight after a while. Check out the donation box at the top of the page. Be very careful people. Something is amiss.
