Re: "Repair Only Warranty" - No Refund, No Exchange

Hey, one of the Angry/Crappy People found another site with some consumer complaints about Crappy Tire's crappy "Return Only" policy.

Return Refused at Canadian Tire Canada

There are Crappy People harrassing consumers over on that site, too, if they tell consumers how to get refunds.

Yeah, they'd like us all just to roll over, play dead, and contact the manufacturer right away, instead of holding the retailer responsible for the crap they sell.

I completely agree - retailers like Crappy Tire are ridiculously wasteful.

We hear time and again how they dispose of products that could simply be cleaned up & then re-sold as refurbished, but instead Crappy Tire chooses to throw them into the dumpster. What a destructive waste!

And there are times, too, when the un-trained Returns clerks incorrectly deem items as "defective", when they are simply unwanted, and could be re-sold, or require only a minor repair, and could be sold as 'clearance' or 'refurbished'.

But, no, in their anti-environmental stance, they simply allow their under-trained staff to relegate these items to the landfill.

    They should be ashamed!

When will the owners of Crappy Tire stores realize the errors of their ways, and being to address the tremendous harm they are doing to the environment???

Has anybody found out the policy on major appliances?

I saw the sign on all the fridge and stores saying, "No Returns".

But is it basically the "repair only" policy, where they will at least help you get it fixed?

Or is it more of the "this product has no warranty" policy, where you are completely on your own?

i don't know any details, but imagine spending hundreds of dollars, and when there's a problem, you are told - sorry, no refund!

crappy tire made a facebook page on their new product line.

most of the wall messages? complaints about their crappy return policy and service. hilarious!

Those CT jerks can't refund or exchange without fucking over the customer and invading their privacy over a $3 item, on top of showing a receipt lol. I can't wait for the first wave of disasters to hit...that'll show the sheeple to never shop at CT lol.

    Interesting post:

    https://www.canadiantiresucks.net/ge....html#post5532

According to the web site, Zellers will take back used items, even if they are defective.

No "repair only" items mentioned on their web site.

    No "exchange only" items, either.

And, no items that are "no refund, no exchange, no repair" (i.e., "this product has no warranty" items).

Same as Costco, Walmart and Home Depot.

You have to be kidding! Who would be silly enough to spend hundreds of hard-earned dollars on something that isn't backed by the retailer? If I still shopped at that awful enterprise known as Canadian Tire, I'd take one look at the "NO RETURNS" sign and say, "NO PROBLEM, I'M OUT OF HERE!"

    My favourite part?

"Finally, insist on a refund if the product is defective [or] unsafe. Under the law, stores have an obligation to sell merchandise that is saleable and suits the intended purpose -- no matter what their return policies may say."

Remember: 'Against the law is illegal"!

You mean Ellen Roseman, the professional consumer advocate agrees with us? No, you don't say? And shes basing her insistence that defective products must refunded under the law? No, could it be? Could she be referring to the very same law, the CPA that Davidler posted many many moons ago? Could it be the same law that the CT dealers seems to be avoiding, and misinterpreting to their benefit ? No you don't say?

Keep denying those legitimate refunds. After all, it goes towards your profits!
