    Really?

Because, I went to the Crappy Tire site just recently, and it stil said the same old thing: "with your receipt ... Returns without the original receipt or packaging will be accepted at Canadian Tire's discretion."

    Absolutely no change, there, buddy!

So, can you provide evidence to back up your claim?

    Please show us all:

    1) What the official policy statement used to say.
    2) What the official policy statement now says.

    ---

But based on your track record, it's likely that you have no such proof.

(Hey, any update on your 'readily available' proof about warranties of every single automotive battery retailer in all of Canada? LMAO!)

And even if what you say is true, Crappy Tire will STILL have worst policies around!

    - As little as 30 days to return it.
    - Has to be in original conditon.
    - Must be unusued.
    - Might also need to be in an unopened package.
    - Original packaging must be undamaged.
    - Original receipt required.
    - ID is required.

Geez, did you even bother to look at anybody else's policies?

Or do you just blindly keep posting the same crap, over and over?

Don't ever buy air conditioners from CT. Once you buy they don't care what happens. I paid over $600.00 for a portable air conditioner that worked 2 weeks and all CT did was give me a phone number. CRAP STORE. CT AND THEIR POLICIES CAN ALL GO TO WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE BECAUSE FRANKLY YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE SMART YOU WILL SHOP ANYWHERE EXCEPT CANADIAN TIRE.

Re: Returning Unwanted Goods - CT Has the Worst Policies

    This is interesting.

Many Crappy People have posted here claiming that "original condition" means "unopened".

This is obviously an incorrect interpretation, because I can open a package without actually using the item inside. Therefore, they are NOT equivalent terms.

But to set the record straight, here's the official response that one customer received from CTC, and which the customer then posted on Crappy Tire's very own facebook page:

    Dear Vincent Tsm,

Thank you for responding to our email.

Original condition generally means that the product is:

    - Clean
    - Complete
    - Not defective
    - Not used
    - Not installed
    - Not modified (e.g. rope cut to length, paint that has been mixed)

We apologize we are unable to honour your request. The product would carry an exchange only with receipt.

I realize that the Crappy People out there will zero in on the phrase "generally means", and claim that they can therefore interpret "original condition" in any way they damn well wish.

But everyone else will smell their B.S. a mile away.

Oh, and nice job proving how "important good customer service" is to you.

    LMAO!

Now that Mr. Moaner One has gathered the courage to show their embarrassed face here again, perhaps now they will finally provide some evidence to back up the above statement.

Because, so far, nobody has seen any policy changes. Which makes it look like Moaner One is still a liar ...

A little observation posted on CT's own FB page:

Stop making it so hard to return stuff claiming the package has been open!!
Noticing this policy in a few Canadian tires!!
    NOT COOL

Re: Returning Unwanted Goods - CT Has the Worst Policies

In an unrelated thread, CTMe/Lawguy/Moaner made a big deal about having a "90 day" return policy:

Quote Originally Posted by Owner 1 View Post

Lets have a peek at some general return policies as well as some exceptions for gas powered equipment from some of YOUR favourite retailers.

TSC stores 60 days with a receipt in original packaging. Note that's 33% fewer days to return items then Canadian Tire's 90 day policy

    Home Hardware
    30 days? wow that's 66% fewer days

    Rona
30 days? Still not quite up to par

    Walmart
    90 days
    Same as Canadian Tire

    Lowes
90 days - 30 days for gas powered equipment in original condition after which manufacturers repair warranty applies
Readers of this thread will already know that CTMe/Lawguy/Moaner is comparing their best 'apples' to their competitions regular 'oranges'.

This makes it seem like others stores suck as much as Crappy Tire's do. In some cases, it makes it seem like CT's policies are actually better.

Here are a few of the many ways in which the policies at Crappy Tire are worse than the major Canadian stores, for unwanted (unsatisfactory) goods:

    - Many items sold by CT can NEVER be returned, even though they are returnable at their competitors. Examples are assembled bicycles and major appliances.
    - But at the competition? Most things can be returned for a refund, and the rest can usually be exchanged (with the usual exceptions: underwear, ammunition, etc.)

    - The only way to get a 90 day return on anything that CT, is if the package is unopened.
    - But at the competition? Things can usually be returned if you are unsatisfied. Nobody else has the blanket "non-returnable if opened" policy.

    - At CT, pretty much any defective items are either non-returnable, "Repair Only" or "Exchange Only". There are reports that CT might give a refund for a couple of things they sell, but only 1 has ever been confirmed.
    - At the competition? Defective items are routinely refunded, including gasoline-powered equipment.

You can see why CTMe/Lawguy/Moaner has such a poor reputation here, and never had any credibility, either.

I really love it when The CTer (CT Me / Lawguy / Owner1) posts crap like they've been doing once again.

It's a great opportunity to review the horrible policies at CT, and compare them to all the other stores that have better policies!
