Re: Buying Batteries From Canadian Tire - Warranty Issues, Etc.

The experience I had yesterday was abnormal. Its like the manager was waiting for me. Was greeted happily, no question about the battery, gave me a refund. I think there are more Crappy Tire managers/owners in this forum than I thought. I seriously got that impression. They saw me coming...
    Thanks Guys

    One down, 486 to go!

As for me? I'm not holding my breath, waiting for good customer service to come to a store near me, LOL!

Maybe things are better in Moose Creek, but they still suck in Belleville:

Allan Brown: Since when do you need a receipt to return something that is a Canadian Tire brand - a Motomaster Battery with 6 years warranty dead after 3 years .... and they want a receipt .... I mean seriously come on!!!!!

Re: Buying Batteries From Canadian Tire - Warranty Issues, Etc.

Just stumbled on this post on the Tempo thread: EVOLVE TREADMILL,TEMPO -Canadian Tire ,3516 8th ave NE Calgary - CAN'T BE RETURNED!!!!!!!

Car Batteries-don't buy from Canadian Tire

I had an even worse problem with a faulty car battery I bought from Canadian Tire. First, here's my advice: buy your car battery from WALMART!!! They have great service & prices, and stand behind their products. Avoid CT as they are very arrogant and mean!

The battery I bought from Canadian Tire stopped charging after a few days. I went back, and the manager totally agreed it was faulty, and they agreed from my receipt it was less than 1 week old. However, they absolutely refused to refund my money because some small ID sticker was missing from thebattery. (I didn't even know what they were talking about.) I even wrote the CT head office & they STILL refused the refund!! Don't forget I had a 5-year warranty!!!

Once again, if you can avoid it, don't buy from Canadian Tire. Since then I've bought all my car supplies including tires, batteries, etc from WALMART & I'm happy I did! ...Mr. E.

Facebook complaint re: the fee they might charge (get it?) just to test a battery under warranty:

Chris Rickert You suck Canadian tire! Rip-off auto repairs should be your name... $99.00 to test a battery under warranty to find it is dead and they replace it free under the warranty but still charged a diagnostic fee but no print out as to what was wrong or why this is the 2nd replacement in two years.

I doubt Sarah has ready the Tempo Treadmill thread. Good luck with that, Sarah!

Sarah Vail It surely wasn't the treadmill i got that was purchased in your SS NB store.. Waited 6 weeks now for it to be repaired because it has never worked from the start. Your repair crew isn't reliable that's for sure...... Now i am takinig it back for refund.

Here's another customer, posting on the Crappy Tire Facebook page about having to keep a receipt for a full decade, to,get any warranty service, despite all the other evidence.

Theresa Pastl We are not going here any more . They would not replace a 2 year old battery that has a 10 year warranty and the year was written right on the top. We couldn t find the receipt. So hang on to the receipt for 10 years. Who does that anyway!!
