Further still, she points to current statistics where more women are graduating with advanced degrees in a lopsided fashion and leaving traditional roles at the home and lesser services such as RETAIL . She also points to statistics which reveal an increasing number of men are staying home and raising her kids due to her BIGGER SALARY!!!!!!!!!!!.

So get with the times dude. Oh I won't be setting foot at CT and have shown this site to the sisters in the sorority.
This is getting more ridiculous by the day! So now because I said that without retailers you'd be growing food and wives would be sewing clothes i'm a sexist? LOL Okay have your wife grow the food and you sew the clothes, either way you totally missed the point about the value of retailers to every day life and decided to turn this into a battle of the sexes. clever, but really not very intelligent.

I find it hard to believe that any "Professor" could take one sentence, drive it out of context and conclude that i'm a sexist still living in the 50's LOL I would wager a guess that anyone who spent as many years educating themselves and others as a University Professor would make a judgement based on one sentence. YOu're so silly.

As far as the Statistics go, I have no idea what the relevance to any of this is. yes we are all aware of the statistics and trends. There are more women CEO's, executives and Sr. Managers each year. Our board of Directors has women on it, that's great. My accountant in house is female. Office Manager, female. Store Manager, female. I have a girl on my auto parts desk. I have a 25 year old girl running my warehouse. They do their jobs and do it well, that's why they are there. I don't care if they were male, female or transgendered, do the job you're paid to do, and all is well! It's no more complex then that.

My wife has two University Degrees to my one. She will likely never follow into the fields of work she studied, as she is an integral part of our company and this is more wealth then we could ever have hoped for. When I was a Service Manager in another City and Province, the family across the street had a stay at home Dad. His wife was an accountant for a big company, and supported the family on her own. None of this stuff is foreign to me. YOu're not lecturing some teenager

Wait, I thought CT-dealer-owner only looked at the government ID for returns. Now somebody's saying the returns desk nazi's swipe the licenses through some sort of scanner??? I gotta read more of the comment section.

How to get a refund from Canadian Tire - moneyville.ca Blogs

    Stopped patronizing
I purchased a replacement glass pot for my coffee maker in Orillia. Paid cash.Found that I had purchased the wrong size. When attempting to exchange, CTC wanted to swipe my driver's licence through their scanner as part of the process. The product was in the original packaging and I had the receipt. This was a cash purchase, I absolutely refused. They have no right to my personal information as stored on my licence. I'd fill out a form but not let them scan/swipe my licence. The manager wouldn't budge. $9 sale. I dropped it, letting it break so they can clean it up.. Followup directly with head office resulted in dead air. No response, no bite me, no nothing.

    bump

[17] It further follows that the Calgary store contravened section 7(2),
since an organization cannot require someone to consent to collection of
personal information that is not necessary.

[10] Section 7(2) of PIPA is also relevant to this case. It provides as
    follows:
An organization shall not, as a condition of supplying a product or
service, require an individual to consent to the collection, use or
disclosure of personal information about an individual beyond what
is necessary to provide the product or service.

Well, obviously those investigators and tribunals and whatnot don't know what they are talking about.

Because we have it on good authority, from CT Me and LawGuy, for instance, that the crack team of lawyers up at CTC HQ are all over this 'privacy' stuff.

Absolutely, those guys are very versed in all the privacy laws and such, so the owner/dealers can be very confident that the original policy about swiping in driver's license number was A-Ok and there was never any reason to change it.

In fact, I'm surprised that the CT Legal Team hasn't launched an aggressive legal appeal process, to get this travesty of justice reversed.

But maybe it's a tad complicated, and 6 years isn't quite enough time for them to get their ducks all in a row.

    Yeah.

They just need a little more time - then, watch 'em go to it!

    Yeah ....

Perhaps now would be a good time for litigator wife to file that class action suit. I'm sure she is filling out the paperwork as we speak. Yes indeed! Any day now, any day. LOL!
