not too many companies that are doing poorly will raise their dividend. that was a big increase and the results were strong. i'm not sure your message is reaching the right people CTH8R

    Re: Crappy Tire's Financial State

So CTMe/lawguy/moaner is going to call consumers who post the truth here 'sneaky', for honest errors, promptly corrected?

And ignore their own, long history of deliberate deception, unapologetically repeated ad infinitum?

Reminds me of other news this week: serial liars The Ford Brothers claiming the Police Chief who caught Rob should resign!

    Nice try, Ford-esque Liarguy!

Maybe The Moaner One can provide some details about the "DOA policy" they mentioned?

Either that, or admit that they made the whole thing up?

    Which shall it be?

Oh, wait: it'll be the Rob Ford approach: run and hide, dodge and weave, avoid the question at all costs!

Hey, look over there! Quarterly results! Ooooh! Somebody made an error! Lets distract everybody with THAT!

Sounds an awful lot like what The Moaner One writes. Funny how The Moaner signed on around 10:00 tonight, but a post appeared under Sangria5, The Moaner's trusty side-kick!

Besides: CTR doesn't directly give dividends, and more than the Petroleum unit does, LOL!

That doesn't make too much sense, then why raise the dividend?

    A different point of view:

Gary R.: I drive truck use to deliver Canadian Tire stores. Here's a few things most people don't know about Canadian tire. Each store is privately owned, but the warehouse owns the stock. The warehouse tells u the store what ur ordering for stock. There are stores that have two or more overstock warehouses full and the warehouse still sends u stuff u don't need. So in my a Pinon it's only a matter of time and the company collapses. The only reason they are still going is they are so big now. Canadian tire also owns mark's work warehouses, Action Auto parts &parts plus stores, sports checks and all the other sports stores that are affiliated with them. They now own a lot. But like a lot of great empires they collapsed.

Yes, Crappy Tire bought Mark’s Work Warehouse many years ago, but CT seems to be leaving them alone, meaning you can bring things back. But, it’s mostly clothing, so no moving parts or electronics, which means less risk to consumers. The only thing would be if the goods wear out prematurely, seams come apart, etc.

More recently, Crappy bought Forzani, which is sporting goods. A while back, I went into one these stores that sold bicycle, and they don’t yet have Crappy’s horrible “non-returnable” policy. So, consumers who buy a bike that is defective or poorly assembled can get a refund, as far as I know.

Crappy Tire also started the Part Source stores. They seem to have the same “can’t return it if it’s used” policy as the main stores. I’ve heard that they will try to help you out if the part won’t fit or if they gave you the wrong one. Haven’t heard much about them though (much smaller outfit than the Red Triangle of Crap stores).

Regarding the CT Retail Red Triangle of Crap stores, my impression is, they plan to continue their money-grabbing practices, right up to the end, when most consumers wise up and boycott them altogether, at which point they will have run the Red Triangle stores into the ground. By gouging their remaining customers for every dollar they can get, they can use those profits to buy other stores that don’t yet suck.

I am one of the growing number of Canadians who are looking forward to the day when Canadians have smartened up, and no longer enter the Red Triangle of Crap stores. Then, the brand “Canadian Tire” will only be seen on a few obscure gas stations (and ones that don’t sell or service tires, LOL!)

I see Crappy Tire managed to increase sales and revenue by 2-point-something percent, this year.

    Big whoop.
