Thread: Will Crappy Tire Survive The Coming Competition?

  1. #71

Re: Will Crappy Tire Survive The Coming Competition?

I've been hearing reports lately of extremely generous return policies.

I was at a seminar on e-commerce last month, and heard about retailers who are accepting returns of items that weren't even purchased at their store (provided it's an item they carry).

The thinking is, it's more important to go the extra mile to keep your customers happy, than it is to try attracting new ones.

That's the kind of competition we might start seeing more of, and not the draconian screw-the-customer philosophy of Crappy Tire - which is all we seem to hear out of them on this site.

Yes, the future looks bright for the consumer.

    Oh oh!

The Crappy People aren't gonna like THIS very much!

Bloomberg reports a prediction that 'Target will “steal” a total of C$855 million ($828 million) in sales from Canadian Tire, a Toronto- based motor oil-to-toasters chain.'

Plus, any half-competent staff Crappy might have left ...

UPDATE 2-Canadian Tire profit rises, paced by sporting goods | Reuters

Another strong quarter! So experts, how are you feeling about your claims of "buying an insolvent company" - "Paying too much for FGL" oh and the fact in general that Canadian Tire across the board continues to perform well?

So while Sears struggles, Rona's profit drops, Lowes expansion plans fail and slow, Zellers takes a final bow.... oh it's a tough retail landscape.

Go ahead haters, spin this into another negative hahahaha

Hey, look who's returned, to give us a fresh round of entertaining B.S.!

    The late, great Moaner One!

(Hey! Where's all the evidence you said you had, about every single Canadian retailer of automotive batteries? Still waiting, LOL!)

Yes, it's been a while, but the barrage of deceit has already begun!

Try to guess how much same-store sales at the Red Triangle of Crap have increased?

    Any guesses? 16%? 10%? 5%? Even 1%?

    Nope! Guess again!

    A mere 0.4% increase in same-crappy-store sales!

Woo-hoo! You must be SO proud!

    LMAO!

And this counts as "performing well", does it?

    LMFAO!

Wecome back, Moaner! This is gonna be FUN!

    Seriously?

Did you even bother to read the friggin' report??

"auto service and related parts sales declined in the quarter compared to the same period in 2011."

Since when does a decline count as "performing well"?

Talk about 'spin' - you must take your lessons from Wetmore, LOL!

Re: Will Crappy Tire Survive The Coming Competition?

It's important to always do a little research, before believing anything the Crappy People post here.

Take for instance the recent post that said, "Rona's profit drops". Makes it sound like they are doing even worse than CT Retail, who's same-store sales increased a paltry 0.4% over Q2 2011, right?

But if you dig into the story, you find out that the profits were affected by "unusual items" this quarter, related to their re-alignment with their markets: Rona profit dragged down by unusual items

Hardly what CT would lead you to believe. In fact, without these 'unusual items', their profits were UP abougt 18%! This is born out by their revenues, which are also up by 3.4% from a year ago.

This trickery regarding Rona comes on the heels of The Moaner's misrepresentation from last quarter about stores closing - back then, The Moaner 'forgot to mention' that far more (smaller) Rona stores would be opening to replace them.

Yup, you just can't trust these owners!

And their slogan is "Bring it On", but it should be "Don't Bring It Back", to accurately reflect their so-called 'return' policy, LOL!

It's looking like Moaner1 will be popping in every quarter, to tell us how great Forzani is doing. And Marks and CT Financial. And Petrolium. Basically, anybody ELSE that they haven't yet run into the ground.

And they'll be sure to make up stories about other Canadian retailers, and drag in stories about under-performing companies in other markets (regardless of whether the stories are true or not).

But what we apparently WON'T hear from The Moaner, is any bad news about sales or profits at your local Red Triangle of Crap store!

    LMAO!

Aside from a neutral or slightly down quarter in automotive, it was a great quarter. Yes i'm going to come tell you how good we are doing, it's printed in black and white, read em and weep.
A small growth in the last 3 months for CTR shows on the books, and a profit. Not a loss, not shrinking sales. NOw does that sound like an underperforming company to you? I know what you THINK. Too bad it's not based on anything except your opinion.

NOw as far as Forzani goes, let's address that shall we? In another post one of you has mentioned that they are now floating the company LOL which first is a joke. Secondly this is the same company that you called insolvent. We paid a billion too much for them. We made a mistake because we had to take a $25 million hit to close the underperformers. Those were a few of your analysis comments on our Forzani purchase. Not looking so smart now are you?

    0.4% is "great"?????

    LMFAO!!!

I really DO like CT's new strategy of running the Red Triangle stores into the ground, though. The sooner those triangles disappear from the Canadian landscape, the better. Can't wait until CT is just a couple of letters on the stock ticker - preferably headed downward!

So, which was it, genius? Was it a neutral quarter? Or was it a down quarter? Because it actually can't be both, you know. It's one or the other (but it sure wasn't 'up', LOL!)

Care to actually make a stand for once? Huh?

Oh, never mind - the answer is easy to find - no reason to lie or misrepresent on this one:

" ... auto service and related parts sales declined in the quarter compared to the same period in 2011."

See? It's actually pretty easy to just be honest and accurate. You should give it a try once in a while, man!
