How to respond to CT's poor repairs and service?

Terence M.: How about bitter posts that warn people not to take their cars to Canadian Tire so they don't waste their money on further repairing damages caused by the very people we were supposed to trust to repair them in the first place?

Shahee W.: By the way. calling their customer service line and starting a case, does nothing. They shrug their responsibility for the damage they caused. Isn't calling them regarding an issue they caused rather like getting the police to police them selves?

    More:

Jyoti G: Totally agree it's a waste of time I called the number and they said they would open a" case" what's to open when u guys charged me 90 something dollars for coolant real customer service would have been checking the coolant like I said instead of doing a diagnostic on the whole car. Like talk about thieves and running a business on ripping of people..

Re: Canadian Tire Sucks at Auto Repairs - Unnecessary, over-priced, incompetent, incorrect and incomplete!

Brian A.: I remember back when i was 21 i brought my P.O.S. 200 dollar car there to have the brakes looked at. They told me 900 dollars to fix. I said drop that thing off the hoist cuz that isnt happening. They said that it was unsafe and they could not let it go without fixing it. I said OK how about I make a bigger scene about this than you are making?... They let me go instantly and I went to Hank Henderson's family friend's place and fixed it myself for about 75 bucks! Thanks Tex wherever you are! (How's that for storytime?)

Joanne A.: Took my car in for its first emissions test, completely unaware that if your check engine light is on it is an automatic fail, and the Oshawa Store (Gibb St) actually took my money instead of having the decency to just let me know the facts first. Way too jump in on the scam #Canadiantire #poorcustomerservice

These often come in pairs: the original complaint, then the rebuttal of the copy-and-paste 'Reach out to us' email:

Eleanor M.B.: I would die of shame if I was as incompetent as the imbeciles who work in the auto repair department at CT in Saskatoon. They break more than they fix.

Eleanor M.B.: Only if something can be done about it, a lot of time has been wasted already and our truck is messed up. We even brought a real mechanic to talk to them. They really don't know what they are doing. They even screwed up a simple tire change as well as everything else. So much incompetence at Canadian Tire Saskatoon West.

Re: Canadian Tire Sucks at Auto Repairs - Unnecessary, over-priced, incompetent, incorrect and incomplete!

Shahee W.: So what do we do when Canadian Tire damages our vehicle after taking it in for another repair, and then filing a case with the complaint department, waiting over 2 weeks, sending in photos of the damage, and they end up telling you that they are shrugging responsibility and I have to fix it my self?! And please don't copy past your usual response.

Shahee W.: How about I upload the photos of the damage Canadian Tire did to my vehicle when I took it in (for the first and last time) to get repaired at Canadian Tire?

Jyoti G.: Totally agree it's a waste of time I called the number and they said they would open a" case" what's to open when u guys charged me 90 something dollars for coolant real customer service would have been checking the coolant like I said instead of doing a diagnostic on the whole car. Susan M.: I've been waiting almost a year for a reply from Canadian Tire. You keep telling me that customer service matters to the company and that they will get back to me as soon as they can... WELL A YEAR? it doesn't ever take that long to get back to a person about something! What is the deal with it? I asked here, I asked online, I sent mail to the higher up office... NO REPLY. Zero communication.

Re: Canadian Tire Sucks at Auto Repairs - Unnecessary, over-priced, incompetent, incorrect and incomplete!

Tony G.: Stay away from Canadian Tire Auto Service at Main Street in North Vancouver, B.C.! Incompetent mechanics, a so called service manager that is even worse. They recommend all sorts of unnecessary extra work, and after agreeing to do the extra work they came up with damage that was done after they last worked on my vehicle. Finally after I told them I want my truck back with no more work to be done, the service manager pipes up stating that they do not feel comfortable continuing the job. This was all after I simply asked them to change from the brake pads and a power steering pump. USELESS!
