Gary B.: junk, I would never buy anything electrical from Canadian Tire again.

John E.: This might be a good idea if they learned how to make a battery that will last for more than a year !!!!!

Re: Canadian Tire Sucks at: Tools (Repair Only, Warranty not honoured, No Refund or Exchange)

Gotta get Dad SOMETHING for Christmas. How about a useless tool?

Greg K.: Pick the 4 tools on this page that are practically useless as cordless tools, even with 20 VDC Lithium Ion battery. Hints to those who don't use tools and have already bought them for their handy husbands: the corded versions should be used with hearing protection to use. They need 120 volts power supply or the job will take longer and somebody may get cranky. Return them for a gift card before use so that they can buy a corded version at 70% off on sale in the next month or so!

Greg K.: OK, the idea of a cordless circular saw is absurd. Next thing from the marketing guys at Canadian Tire could be a 20-volt cordless bread-maker. We could now make the list up to 12, and we could take it camping too. What fun!

It seems Richard M. still has his CT-induced grudge ... and still has a computer, too - LMAO!

Richard M.: Got all my snow gear at Walmart what a deal . It would have been Canadian Tire had they not ripped me off and not takin care of me . They went from waiting for the flyer in the mail to the first flyer in the trash . Its un Canadian to rip off the Canadian public . If you don't shop there they won't be able to steal from you . They still owe me $181.00 over two nail guns they took from me . Defective out of the box Mastercraft nail guns.

A Christmas Morning post - which means it's too late for a lot of people to take back tools like this:

Bonnajai S.: I bought some tools at CTC, never opened- for $39.00. They tell me they can only give me $10.00. They are Mastercraft.

Christopher H.: Over priced and difficult to deal with when returning goods. Bought a drill that lasted just 3 hours and CT told me when i took it back," we do not take tools back as you have to deal with the manufacturer instead. Terrible service. I got my money back after 35 minutes of expressing my outrage. Never will go back.

Ryan W.: I haven't shopped here in 5 years. You guys refused to warranty my socket set case. I went through the entire phone and email process and got nowhere. Please don't advertise on my wall. It's traumatic and offensive. I used to wait until Friday and spend most of my paycheck every week. You guys don't care about your customers. Go on and tell me to contact customer again. It's a waste of time because I won't get anywhere anyways.

Ryan W.: What would have been nice is for you guys to stand by your warranties.

Then the Sys Admin suggested Ryan contact their Dis-Service people:

Ryan W.: Just tell me where I can have my socket set case replaced. The tabs broke off. I can't transport the socket set if all of the pieces are falling out. You guys should seriously replace the case and give me something for wasting countless hours of my time.

Keith M.: Must say - I work in construction supply. I NEVER see Mastercraft tools on job sites. I see Craftsman from Sears, Uberhaus from Rona, BMR home brand, but never a Mastercraft. These guys try all tools, push them to the limits, and will buy the most bang for the buck. Also, if a carpenter's saw fails and he loses a $50 an hour contract while it's down, the 30 bucks he saved on the tool doesn't count for much. Just sayin'

Re: Canadian Tire Sucks at: Tools (Repair Only, Warranty not honoured, No Refund or Exchange)

All across Canada, defective but non-returnable tools are piling up in basements and garages, because their unlucky owners needed to just get the job done, with a tool from a decent retailer. Here's the latest example:

Andrew H.: Tried to return a nail gun, used it for 2 min did not like the feel of it. I sent my wife back to the store with it and they would not take it back. She could only get an in store credit for a different nail gun. She did not know what to chose so came home with the gun. I still have it but have purchased another one from Home Depot. I will not be back. Adios Canadian Tire.

Bill C.: ... I bought the Mastercraft Vertical Rolling Toolbox Product #58-0677-4 less than a year ago and find it is very poorly made. The hinges are very weak and made of cheap plastic which broke. I find the top tray is not durable and can easily twist. Am I able to exchange it for another???
