Thread: oil filters / tires

    Re: oil filters / tires

And how many years of service have you lost due to poor oil filtration in your vehicle(s) because of your misplaced loyalty??? Maybe if you are riping off your customers like CTC with false quality "branded" products, you are making enough profit not to really give a damn. After all "it's all just about the bottom line", right??!!!

    Re: oil filters / tires

Ahhh a bunch more false information I see.

    1) only one MotoMaster tire is manufactured in China. Motomaster AW - our entry level tire is in fact made in China. All others are manufactured in USA by GoodYear (Total Terrain A/T & A/P, GoodYear Nordic, MotoMaster SE)

    2) MotoMaster oil filters were previously manufactured in China. They are now manufactured in USA
    ******

There is no "false pretense" anywhere. All products clearly show the place of manufacture, it has to by law. So there is no hidden information, games or misleading information. It's printed in black and white.

The only thing false if your belief that good manufactured in the Pacific Rim are still of poor quality. If we were in the 1990's i'd absolutely agree. China and offshore manufacturing was in its early stages and had not yet caught up. Today, China is high tech, high quality, high productivity.

To give you a small sampling of made in China products.
Stanley tape measures, hammers etc.... and who is Stanley? the largest tool company in North America. Proud owners of Black and decker, dewalt, Delta... - made in China
Cuisinart - deep fryers, coffee makers - made in china
Magellan - one of the top 2 names in GPS units - made in china
    MasterLock padlocks
    Easton and Reebok Hockey sticks
    Motorola telephones

Things just simply aren't made in North America or Germany any longer. Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Zellers (oops), Target.... it's all made in china.

It's not a function of Canadian Tire it's a function of global economics. China is in the heart of its industrial revolution as Japan once was and The United States prior to that. If you attempt to shop today based on place of Manufacture, you'll be likely highly unsuccessful at finding what you want if you are adverse to China. Either that or you'll be broke because you'll only be able to buy specialty stuff.

Sorry old timer, your thinking is old, outdated and with all due respect, uneducated in terms of current economy.

    Re: oil filters / tires

I see CT/Me/Law/Guy/Owner1 has decide to quickly POUNCE on this FRESH, tire-related post ... from over TWO YEARS AGO!

    January 29th, 2010, 12:01 AM

    LMAO!

Hey, speaking of credibility, where's all the proof you said you have (easily obtained, you said) about the warranties offered by every single battery retailer in all of Canada? Still waiting! LMFAO!)

    Re: oil filters / tires

Now if timing mattered THAT much to you guys, we could discuss some of your favourites.... like the US failure 30 years ago...or most of the lawsuits or investigations that you dug up which were many many years old. Or is it just okay that you guys talk with open timelines, but everyone else can't?

All of that is besides the point, given that I was addressing GrampaB who posted not 2 years ago.....heck not even 2 days ago....he posted this morning and i responded.

I see aside from timing of the post you have no comeback or anything to add or dispute. No response to Chinese manufactured products? Tires?

    YOur silence is golden.

We have already addressed the battery issue many times over. You just refuse to acknowledge the information presented to you as usual.

The Angry/CT/Me/Liar/Guy/owner is easily confused ... about what he wrote himself, LOL!

Reponding to old posts, but thinking he's responding to new ... what a moron!

And it sounds like that 'proof' he said he had won't be getting posted any time soon.

If so, he'd have posted it by now, right here: Buying Batteries From Canadian Tire - Warranty Issues, Etc.

I guess it's time to stop waiting, and call "BS" on yet another bogus claim, courtesy of the geniuses at Crappy Tire!

I wish they'd make up their mind which lie to tell.

Are things made in China? Or not?

Never mind, we'll have to rely on each other for the answers.

Because you just can't trust the unproven statements of the Angry/Liar/Owner.

    Just a shame, really.

    Re: oil filters / tires

keep on twisting stuff around to suit what you believe to be the truth.

China is far and away the dominant manufacturing country in the world for consumer goods. That doesn't mean EVERYTHING. So my posts above stand exactly as they are.

China dominates manufacturing, for us, for Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot etc.....
China does NOT dominate in tire manufacturing, atleast not in CT land, with only one of our private branded tires, our entry level basic passenger MotoMaster AW tire, which is made in China. Every other MM tire is manufactured by GoodYear in the USA for Canadian Tire. period
Proof? stop into your local store and go look at the tire wall. You'll see stamped right on the sidewall. made in USA.

    Re: oil filters / tires

This WOULD have been interesting ...

    .... TWO WHOLE years ago!

    Now? Not so much.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in getting the truth on this matter, they can do their own reseach.

Because the Angry CT Me Law Guy Ower just has zero credibility here. Told too many lies, I"m afraid. Sad, really.

(Hey, how's that research going, on every single battery retailer in all of Canada? Be sure and post that evidence soon, though! I heard "it's easy to find! LMAO!)

It's not interesting to you that your fellow "advocates" are telling lies about where products are manufatured? It should be! You want to talk about zero credibility, go ahead and figure out where our tires are manufactured and you'll realize the truth as it stands!

Besides, timing means NOTHING to you guys. ZERO. You've had your day of digging up consumer complaints from years ago, dealers long retired who got in trouble for a few things and how about your personal favourite, a failed expansion 3 decades ago. 30 years.

    hypocrit

    you're pathetic

    Re: oil filters / tires

It's always entertaining when Angry-CTMe-LawGuy-Owner gets so enraged, that he forgets how to even type, LOL!

It's not like I really care what ACLO thinks consumers 'should' do, of course. We all know it will just involve leaving our hard-earned money with the Crappy stores.

And it's not like I actually bought any of their Crappy tires, or even care about the country in which they were "manufatured". (Gee, why does his typing suck so much? Must be that it's hard to see the screen, when it's obscured by so much mouth-foam, LOL!)

But, hey, if ACLO cares to provide some verifiable evidence that there were NOT "several types" of Moto Master tires made in China TWO YEARS AGO, then I'd be willing to concede that perhaps guest-0171 was at least mistaken.

Not that it matters much - he only posted SIX times, and that was TWO YEARS AGO!

And one other thing: I read all six of his posts. Note ONCE did guest-0171 claim to be an "advocate".

Speaking of truth: simply putting quotation marks around a word (like "advocate"), does not magically put those words into someone else's mouth. Another example to add the the growing list of ACLO's bald-faced lies. Yeah, let's "talk about zero credibility". Ha-ha!

(Hey, how's that search for proof about every single battery retailer in Canada coming? I hear it's easy to find! LMAO!)
