I used to go into this store all the time because of work. I think it was independently owned, by a guy who might have been named Jim Hutchins.

Whatever his name was isn't important. He was a fantastic guy to deal with. He knew where everything was, he could recommend another store if he didn't have it.

He kept the shop open while some of my customers picked up a bunch of fishing gear. I even heard a story of someone rolling him out of bed to open up his store in the middle of the night to serve some customers. That was in the mid 90's.

If I was ever in there I kept my eye open for the guy because I would rather deal with him than with anyone else.

Unfortunately some of his staff were dolts. For example: one day I was looking for mag lights. We needed a few dozen and I needed them ASAP because I had a plane waiting. I didn't bother looking for them I just asked the first guy I saw where they where. He led me to a computer that was on the end of one of the aisles. After searching around for a few minutes on the computer he told me that they were sold out. That was bad news, but I thanked him and started to run out of the store, and just as I took a couple of steps I saw them. They had been right beside us the whole time.

On the one hand I could have found them if I'd just looked, OTOH, I didn't work there.
