It's funny how some CT Managers/Reps even suggested this method to re-buy something to get the sale price, and then others will criticize customers who do what they were advisded to do. They should have a big meeting or something, and come to a consensus. Maybe a conference call or Skype.

First of all, consumers should be aware that there are generally no laws requiring retailers to give a refund or exchange, simply because you are unhappy with an item.

However, consumers should be aware that most major Canadian retailers will provide a refund or exchange for most goods, if you are unhappy with it, usually for around 30 days. So, this refund issue isn’t really a problem with those retailers – just ask for the price adjustment, or else return the orignal and re-buy..

The exception, of course, is Crappy Tire, which is really the only store where this is a problem. These stores have a policy that you can’t return things you are unhappy with. The web site and receipt say it has to be “in its original conditon and packaging”, but when you take it back, customers discover that stores may add that it must be “unopened”. Usually a problem, if you started the use the product, not knowing it would go on sale.

(Check out this thread of more: https://www.canadiantiresucks.net/g...ing-unwanted-goods-ct-has-worst-policies.html.)

So, it’s better to always deal with a retailer other than CT. In fact, people claming to represent CT have said as much here: “Shop Walmart”. Also add Costco and Home Depot to the list. Or pretty much any other major retailer.

Yes, next time choose a better store, and you won't have these problems.

It's sort of entrapment, if you think about it.

One store says, 'do this'.

Somebody else from another store says, 'if you do that, it's fraud and you are morally bankrupt'

And at any other store, this would just be a routine transaction!

New CT slogan idea: "Shop Walmart".

Geez, now consumers who do what CT suggest are "fraudsters".

So, the Manager who suggested this, is guilty of counselling to commit fraud - against their own store, LOL!

Yet another reason for honest consumers to take their business elsewhere.

Not sure where the fraudsters shop, but I'm hoping it's still CT - ha-ha-ha!
