Would like to know what it is like to work at other CAnadian Tire stores.

See my store is a little different. Five hour or even a four hour shift we are entitled to a 15 minute break. The dealer is at our store almost 7 days a week and the monitors yes, however they have been changed to flat screens. Pens and utilities are provided however some of us just bring it...

    Return policy

I completely have to agree with you that we should not be asking for such contact information if we dont need to. If your returning something to stock because you simply didnt need it, why the heck do we need your address? At the store that I work at, if you have your receipt all we do is scan...

Canadian Tire Owners and Employees: Charges, Convictions, Investigations

Well, I just want to say one thing, looking at these articles, I can defiantly agree that those are crappy tire stors/gas bars. However, there are stores and dealers out there that are for the customer, there is a CSI indicator that every dealer is given, the amount of people who call for a...

no refund if you don't have wife's debit card

At the Canadian tire that I currently work at (in Ontario) it is crucial to us to make sure someone has the same debit card at they paid (we verify the last four digits on the receipt with the card) if the customer does not have that debit card, we simply return the amount on a gift card.

    Ask A Cashier!

Well at least I'm good enough to admit that I was wrong.

    Ask A Cashier!

Actually, now that I have re-read what I wrote i do see that I am wrong, (that's the thing I do not like about this site is that once you post something it has to be reviewed and you can't see it) but yes, the would be taken 10 dollars off the lowest correct price so it would have been 10, Not...

    Ask A Cashier!

I just want to say, I'm sorry I'm new at this, we can't all be waiting our entire day posting hate messages about companies all day.

another CT return policy sucks example

I must say, unless CT Challenger has checked THE ENTIRE CHAIN, you have no right to mark him wrong either, in location that I have worked at, a store credit is given and can be used on any merchandise in that store (only) just as guest1993 had said

    Ask A Cashier!

Well it depends, If the product was in the wrong home (eg. different product number which often happens when customers are grab something off a shelf and place it down somehere random) we cannot give it to them for that price, however if the product is the same product number and its our fault...

    Ask A Cashier!

Let me refresh you, you asked, "Well, I'd like to know what Ms. Know-It-All would say to a customer who paid $650 for one of these pools, found out it was defective, and dragged the 228.7 lb thing back to the store?" That is what I would have said to you, I Would have explained that because it...

    Ask A Cashier!

Well I was actually curious as to what it was (when I first worked there) because all my previous jobs have been in the private sector, and so when I first learnt about it I was amazed that I had never heard about it before. So as im sure many others have, I went online and watched videos as...

CT is both good and bad

I would like to let you know, that having worked at canadian tire, we are constantly coached during staff meetings and amongst other things to OFFER TO HELP, MAKE EYE CONTACT, AND ALWAYS PUT EFFORT TO SOLVE A PROBLEM. In fact, its what I did, i was paid to solve problems (working at the courtesy...
