Canadian Tire doesn't support their product they sell! I purchased a "Yard Works" battery operated lawnmower four years ago and it worked well only the batteries were of poor quality. Every year I had to purchase a new battery, which are very expensive $112.99 incl. Taxes. Because the lawnmower worked well I did not mind!
But now to the real issue and problem!
When I wanted to service my lawnmower to keep it in good working condition I was given the address and phone number of a service station only to find out the place was not in business. I called Canadian Tire to report this issue only to be told that that was the only place they had on record. I finally located a place to receive the required service. Canadian Tire did not care if I could get my lawnmower serviced or not. But the worse it yet to come! In June 2013 my batteries, of which I had two, both wouldn't charge anymore of which one was a new one. I was told it is most likely the charger which is not working anymore. I went to Canadian Tire to purchase a charger and was told the following thing which blew me away: "We sell the lawnmower and the batteries but we don't sell the charger!"
I was told to order it from a company called Sunrise or something like that and when I called to order it was told it will take three to four weeks. Now June is in the height of the grass cutting season and I am without a lawnmower. I had to hire a company to cut my grass until the charger arrived.
This, to me is totally unacceptable service by Canadian Tire. I would never ever purchase any equipment which needs services from Canadian Tire.
I would advise any readers to think twice before purchasing equipment requiring service from Canadian Tire.
