The customer service inside the store is great, but just wait until you need to return something that doesn't work! They pull out the dragon from the back of the store who will intimidate you and make you feel like a criminal for wanting to get your money back for the product that just won't work. I'm talking about almost $200.00 here and I consider that a lot of money!
In the end, I was forced to accept a credit note that is only good at the Blenheim store AND it will expire in less than 3 months!
That was still acceptable since I am renovating a house and need lots of bits and pieces, BUT......... as a parting comment as I was handed the credit note, I was told that it was only good for one purchase!!! I have to spend the entire thing all at once or lose it.
I will make sure to use it up on something that doesn't have a motor and that won't break down (because now I know their greedy policy), but I will never ever shop for anything in their location after I do that one last credit note trip.

More details please. What was the item, what was the defect, why only a credit note option? Why not even a replacement?

My local store makes you use the credit note on the spot. Go get somethin right now! Is this legal?

at least you got something back

ontario laws says you can demand a refund if it was not 'of merchantable quality' but many have to fight tooth & claw and have to file a small claims case to get back anything for so-called repair-only items

a good plan

stick with commodities and things with no expiry date

cases of pop. cleaning products. engine oil. kleenex. bleach. nails. washers. screws.

they still might make a profit from you

better to stay away entirely
