Ahhh a bunch more false information I see.
1) only one MotoMaster tire is manufactured in China. Motomaster AW - our entry level tire is in fact made in China. All others are manufactured in USA by GoodYear (Total Terrain A/T & A/P, GoodYear Nordic, MotoMaster SE)
2) MotoMaster oil filters were previously manufactured in China. They are now manufactured in USA
******
There is no "false pretense" anywhere. All products clearly show the place of manufacture, it has to by law. So there is no hidden information, games or misleading information. It's printed in black and white.
The only thing false if your belief that good manufactured in the Pacific Rim are still of poor quality. If we were in the 1990's i'd absolutely agree. China and offshore manufacturing was in its early stages and had not yet caught up. Today, China is high tech, high quality, high productivity.
To give you a small sampling of made in China products.
Stanley tape measures, hammers etc.... and who is Stanley? the largest tool company in North America. Proud owners of Black and decker, dewalt, Delta... - made in China
Cuisinart - deep fryers, coffee makers - made in china
Magellan - one of the top 2 names in GPS units - made in china
MasterLock padlocks
Easton and Reebok Hockey sticks
Motorola telephones
Things just simply aren't made in North America or Germany any longer. Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Zellers (oops), Target.... it's all made in china.
It's not a function of Canadian Tire it's a function of global economics. China is in the heart of its industrial revolution as Japan once was and The United States prior to that. If you attempt to shop today based on place of Manufacture, you'll be likely highly unsuccessful at finding what you want if you are adverse to China. Either that or you'll be broke because you'll only be able to buy specialty stuff.
Sorry old timer, your thinking is old, outdated and with all due respect, uneducated in terms of current economy.
