Nobody took pity on us lol all they did was provide a link to a report of global top retailers, in an attempt to mislead us, and consumers, saying they never claimed it was a Canadian report.

Holy are you guys ever that thick because it does exist and you CT guys aren't in it lol. See it starts off with a couple of graphs talking about who the market leaders were how it changed in the mid 90's how it affected the incumbent the coach potatoes here who couldn't move fast enough to survive and stats on current market place, depth, what they were 10 - 15 years ago and every year since and what's powering them. Predictions on who will be the next market leaders if the trends continue blah blah blah. How consumer loyalty, consumer perceptions have changed and who'd got it right and who's got it all wrong and what's shaping the next decade in retail space, etc and then to the top 20 ranked by multiple criteria real dry read.So yeah it does exist.

As for CT franchisee's who keep thinking it's a ruse just like your returns policy, keep making fun of people, keep expanding those stores so that it'll be 5 minutes away instead of the 15, and keep making those acquisitions. .

It would be nice to actually have a link to the graph, and know the criteria for the rankings.

Because rankings by revenue and similar criteria put Crappy Tire in the top 10.

On the other hand, this topic gave the Crappy People a reason to tell another flurry of lies, and again trash their own credibility. So it was a "win" in that regard.

NOW - after having been shown a report that shows $600,000 average you're stepping back and adding parameters.... not ALL CT owners are millionaires? how many are billionaires? Verifiable list? - In case you missed the memo, we are all private corporations. only two places have that information, my filing cabinet, and my accountant. Not even the Corporation gets the bank account information of all of its franchisees. So no, the list does not exist... nobody collects it, nobody is entitled to it.

You blokes back pedaled when you denied that owners never lost money, or that no stores were closed, or that CT garages are open and honest etc. Until a few people posted links and video from credible sources substantiating those claims . What have you shown? An article? Is that all you have just an article saying that somebody saw something? I guess that trumps news reports, hidden cameras, lawsuits, settlements and honoring receipts and store policies, you know, things you tend to ignore and deny when it doesn't go your way.

These documents I'm referring to are much more than top 20 lists. It's a strategic plan of sorts that takes into account what things are going well with the competition at the time, what isn't and how to replicate those same outcomes in their own stores, an evolving recipe as it were. The list by itself is worthless when it's not actioned properly. Walmart had such a list and executed well - not perfectly. Contrast that to let's say The Hudsons Bay company which was floundering for many years, lead by blundering, incompetent canadians with half assed plans executed half assed. Until it was taken over by NRDC equities and Jeff Sherman cut out all the dead wood and turned it around with recipes in hand.

So yes the basics of being lean, efficient, green, mixed price points, "touching the customers lives" etc are decades old and may have worked in the past. But it's not enough these days.

In less than 20 years Canada's already lost 4 major Canadian retailers/ distributors with more companies headed to bankruptcy in these extended lean times.

As for seeing it the top retailers should already have it, or maybe they just ignored it and think that customers will always be there.

Here's where I think we are gapped
The loss incurred by dealers, in the US expansion were those dealers that accepted US franchises either as US citizens or Canadians who moved South. Yes they lost money, lots of it! Those dealers who were not involved, did not lose money and were not impacted.

As far as closed stores go, they are usually replaced by bigger stores close by. That does not qualify as 'closing stores' lol If we were in the habit of closign stores, our count would be shrinking not growing.

6 garages pass - check
6 garages fail - check

As usual you have no justifiable explanation for this. You just make up some BS that canadian tire did it wrong, failing to acknowledge that 4 other garages failed as well. I'm not justifying the failure. If you diagnose a car wrong, you haven't done your job as a technician. The point is not that company A sucks like company B. the point is Why is Company A seeing same results as Company B?
