General complaint + Price Adjustment problem:
Enid L.: Since I can't seem to find another venue to air my problem, I will have to do it here. On August 21 I purchased from Canadian Tire a Living 6 drawer wicker chest for $279.99. On the 23rd, the 6 drawer chest went on sale and I called the store and was assured if I brought my receipt in, that I would receive a price adjustment. YAY! I went in on the 26th and was turned away. Somewhere along the line an ad adjustment was made to cover only the BROWN chest. The flyer on Page 9 clearly states brown and WHITE... I bought white. I called the manager (who, btw, has the worst voice mail ever... it's like he hates his job) left a message and 24 hours later am still awaiting a reply! I find your action totally unfair... would I have received the price adjustment if I had gone in on the 23rd? Either you stand by your flyer or you don't. I was prepared to purchase 2 hampers and 4 picture frames but after being turned away, I just left the store. I spent over $600 on my initial visit...I may never go back...A comment would be nice.
Enid L.: Well, I got my reply today and Big Whoop, I am getting a $10 gift card for my "inconvenience". This company will not honor it's advertising.. as of last night, the item I bought in white was still in the flyer on sale. I will be giving the $10 gift card to someone who still respects this company. However, my decorating dollars are going to be spent in Home Depot.

I was in the Canadian Tire in Leamington this morning at about 10 am & when I entered the store a huge black mat was rolled up across the entrance way & I almost tripped over it. I told the young pregnant girl named Lindsay that she should move it before anyone tripped & she snapped back at me & said "I was just getting to it!!!!!!!" I continued into the store with my husband Mike & we shopped for what we needed from your great flyer (as we always do). We figure we spend about $10,000 annually just at your store - YIKES!!!!!! Anyways to get back to the story....when we were ready to check-out there was only one check-out open & it was lined up because the cashier had called for a price check so we went over to the customer service desk. When we got to the cashier, in just a few minutes, I realized the girl behind the counter, that was sweeping & complaining about how hard it was because she was about 4 months pregnant & her baby was kicking her so much, was Lindsay! So I took the opportunity to talk to her personally. I used a calm voice (I did not yell) & simply said "Excuse me" & when she looked up & saw it was me she rolled her eyes & then turned her back to me to try to avoid talking to me. It was then that I got upset! When I'm directly speaking to someone & they purposely turn their back to me - that's very rude!!!! I said again "Excuse me, I'd like to talk to you." (again I used a calm voice, never yelling or making her look stupid in front of other customers!) I did not want to embarrass her but simply explain why the rolled up mat was such a trip hazard. She finally stomped over to me with her hands on her hips & looked at me like I was a moron that she had to deal with. I said "The only reason I told you about the mat when I entered the store is because a few years ago I tripped over something in a parking lot in Leamington & broke my right knee & ended up in the hospital for a month!" I know you have a lot of elderly & disabled customers that would not be able to go around the big mat & might trip on it & sue you. I'm just trying to help you out by pointing this out to you so that this doesn't happen. Please stand up the mat against something while you're sweeping or move it over to the side where no one will trip on it. I see that you're pregnant & seem to be having a difficult time sweeping but I've had several children & it's not that bad...wait until you have them!" I then asked her what her name was & she said "Lindsay! (with a huff & her hands on her hips) then she said "I'm sorry!" (like it was an awful protocol that she had to regurgitate). Again I said "I wasn't being mean, I was just trying to save you from a law suit that could happen if someone tripped on the mat." Then my husband said goodbye & dragged me away because he said I'd made my point & didn't want any further problems with the store since we shop there all the time. I had wanted to tell her that I was parked in the handicapped parking spot out front & walked with a limp & had very little use of my right hand due to having Rheumatoid Arthritis for 44 years but I could tell from her demeanor that it would have fallen on deaf ears! I was upset when I left but my husband tried to calm me down & said "you know you're always going to run into young ignorant employees that won't take you seriously or understand where you're coming from! Just wait until she has her baby & then she'll know what hard work is & maybe as she gets older she'll learn to treat people right!" That really didn't settle me down but I accepted it as an unfortunate reality today
