Often they lie about the issues some more and when they get caught, it's everybody else's fault for having a 'mental' problem and behaving like a child. Most of those posts come from lawguy, who calls himself a lawyer and unregistered, who more than likely are the same person, a lowly clerk.

Customers, do you feel ripped off when they deny you a refund with a receipt? Does your blood boil when the manager and general manager tells you that you're NOT entitled to one despite trying to return the item within their policy and despite what the law says?!?!? That's what this site is about to inform you of better places to shop and let you know there are other options in case you need to deal with CT to get a refund or exchange. What have we learned about CT? That they don't like honoring returns, they intimidate with requiring government for simple returns and exchanges, and if you hit their RED flag for going over a magic number of returns, which vary from store to store, you are denied a return. Your personal information may be shared with other stores for trying to get a refund! What does that do to your character, when other stores other people view you with suspicion. Is that like treating you like a criminal? CT and their legions of self serving employees don't like giving refunds. So they come up with other ways to keep your money like hefty restocking charges - again it varies from store to store, and yes repair only policies. They would rather sweep the whole issue under the rug, reinterpret Consumer Protection Laws to their satisfaction and have you live silently with a product that doesn't work. Unfortunately as more people are finding out, they have to go to the media to have their issues with the store looked at seriously or sue. The head office couldn't care less.

They claim that stores like Walmart have similar policies and used the return of a fuji camera as an example? Where's the proof? It's all made up by CT employees. I've been buying from Walmart ever since they've been in Toronto, and have never been denied a refund. Not once have they 'required to take' information from my government ID, not once have they denied a return for going over a magic number, not once has the head office washed their hands of the situation when I had to deal with a complex situation.

Do you own research and judge for yourselves. Don't take CT for their word, you just may regret it if you do.

I absolutely have contempt for people with mental illness that post commentary on web forums. I have the same contempt for pedophiles that search on line for innocent victims. I mean that is what you are doing....praying on the innocent with your lies and hidden personalties. You don't KNOW anything, you just ASSUME you know everything. You make societies weak, and the world won't back your union mentality. Check out the tide of state politics south of the border....they are banning the unions that reward the weakest links in the chain....and that's you, a weak link, praying that you can continue on with your the world owes me....won't happen. Achievers (which you are clearly not) will have a voice everywhere, they make policy, they make solutions, and they know how to get resolution to inevitable problems. For refunds/ exchanges CT requires:
government id from everyone in addition to the receipt
enters everyone's personal information into a database
arbitrarily charge restocking fee's on refunded/ exchanged items
denies refunds based on a arbitrary number of past returns
every store will do all of the above, some will have their own unique policies.
Canadian Tire Corporation head office refuses to get involved
keep your money for 'repair only' returns

This is everyday at Canadian Tire. Unlike you, I don't need to misrepresent, lie or beat around the bush with the public.
